Low-Dose Aspirin Demonstrates ‘Huge Effect’ in Stopping Colorectal Cancer Recurrence, Research Confirms

An everyday intake of this common painkiller can substantially lower the likelihood of certain colorectal cancers coming back after surgical removal, as per a large-scale trial into the beneficial properties of the common medication.

Scandinavian investigators discovered that individuals who consumed a low everyday amount of the drug after receiving cancer surgery were 50% unlikely to suffer a cancerous return over the next several years versus those who were given a dummy pill.

The study included participants whose tumors had certain genetic mutations that caused them susceptible to its anti-cancer effects. Around four in ten of bowel cancer individuals possess similar alterations.
